I DIDN'T JUST GO TO SAN FRANCISCO FOR THE FLOWERS...

I went to learn how to be a better leader for all the creative entrepreneurs that are part of the Rising Tide Society. Huge thank you to Laura & Rachel Photography for being EVERYWHERE all retreat and taking all these amazing photos. 

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE RISING TIDE SOCIETY IS...

If you don't know what the Rising Tide Society is, it's a movement that started in the United States with an idea in a coffee shop and now has over 350 local chapters across the world including New Zealand and Germany. To bring entrepreneurs out of their isolation and once a month meet with like minded creative entrepreneurs. It's a community that is truly making waves across the entrepreneurial landscape and changing the norm of how things were done before. 

OVER 150 LEADERS OF DIFFERENT LOCAL CHAPTERS ACROSS THE GLOBE GATHERED

Over 150 leaders of different local chapters across the globe spent two days in San Francisco. We discussed some really hard, soul wrenching stuff. Race, discrimination, bullies, loneliness, weaknesses, judgement, being authentic and staying true. Things got real. Really Real. I'm talking ugly crying real. 

ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS AMAZING AND REWARDING BUT...

Entrepreneurship is amazing and rewarding and from the outside sometimes can seem like an absolute dream working for yourself. But in reality being an entrepreneur is tough. It's messy. It's lonely. It's hard. The Rising Tide Society was created out of these needs. It's a safe place for creatives to feel welcomed, loved and inspired. It's about sharing, evolving, inclusion, diversity, educating and above all else lifting each other up. There's a great quote by JFK that "A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats". We want to do this for other entrepreneurs. We want to break down the barriers to enter for entrepreneurs. 

Yes there was an 80's themed night and yes Jenn Kavanagh photography and I nailed it! 

THIS COMMUNITY IS MAKING SO MANY WAVES

This community is making so many waves and has so many positive impacts on so many of us. Natalie Franke fearlessly has embodied all that is the Rising Tide Society and has partnered with honeybook a start up tech company in San Francisco to help us keep everything free in the RTS community. She believes so much in what the RTS movement stands for she moved half way across the country so she could further the Rising Tide Society's goals and passions.

I LEAD A LOCAL CHAPTER IN THE GREATER TORONTO AREA

'm so proud to lead a chapter of RTS here in the greater Toronto area. Everyone deserves to be lifted up, celebrated and empowered. The Rising Tide Society is opening doors, changing the landscape and empowering others while making waves one day at a time.
