WE HOSTED A BEAUTIFUL BACKYARD OUTDOOR WEDDING SHOWER

We hosted a beautiful backyard outdoor wedding shower for 32 people for dinner last weekend. It was a flamingo themed meets vintage wedding shower celebrating some of my favourite people. It was so much fun to build an inspiration board around our "flamingo summer garden party" theme and get inspired for our fun garden party.

MY COUSIN, IS GETTING MARRIED!

My cousin, Christy is getting married! That's her and Mike above. She's one of my best friends and was my maid of honour 4 weeks ago at my own wedding. I feel so lucky to be standing up with her on her special day come this October. She's been like an older sister to me, since I only have brothers so it was super special to host a shower with my grandmother, my sister in law and my mom for her and Mike this weekend.

Christy and Mike had no photos together. I am by no means a photographer, although I hang out with A LOT of them, so I tried to get all artsy with my DSLR... did it work? haha They're so happy!

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS, YOU HAVE SUCH A HARD JOB.

Man oh man, photographers, I applaud you. You have such a hard job! So many images, you have to catch them just right, you gotta be quick setting up manual, so many things to think about and then of course your hand gets tired, and you have to keep looking at all angles and lines in the frame all the time. GEEZE. They are worth their weight in gold, especially for the great ones.

and mix matched vintage silverware and plates. It was really special using my grandmothers silverware, my mom's silverware and my fance silverware too!

WE HAD CUTE LITTLE DETAILS, LIKE LEMONS AND ORANGES FOR POPS OF COLOUR.

My mom hand picked the flowers from her garden and made the bouquets, we had mix matched chairs, lace table cloths, a candelabra right in the centre, green candles and one of my special favourites picked right from the walk way, grape vines right down the centre. 

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PARTS WAS THE THEMED SUMMER FLAMINGO PARTY.

Flamingo's were EVERYWHERE. Small touches of them, from the cake, to the card, to the games, to the straws.

THIS DINNER PARTY MADE ME WANT TO OPEN UP A VENUE SPACE AND RUN ONE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS!
