EVER WONDERED WHAT THE LIFE OF A JEWELLER OR SMALL BUSINESS OWNER LOOKED LIKE 

here's a little insight into all the hats I wear on a daily basis to keep my brand and business running smoothly. It's not as glamorous that staying at home jobs may appear to be from the outside. I think the biggest challenge is the isolation and perhaps the boredom and loneliness that comes from working on your own. 

IF I DON'T WALK MY DOG FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR TWICE A DAY, EVERY DAY AROUND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

I tend to go a little bonkers. I have a lot of anxiety and pent up energy from working in my studio space all alone, all day. So walking with Melvin gets me out and about and even passing others walking their pups who are also probably worker from home peoples.

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE IN OUR GENERATION WORK FROM HOME THESE DAYS?

It seems this number is on the rise. I wonder if that was part of the 2016 census, tracking people who work from home? 

IT'S BEEN AMAZING WITH THE RISE OF THE INTERNET AND SUPPORT FORUMS

and meet ups (like the Rising Tide Society, a movement for creative entrepreneurs that inspires community over competition; #RISINGTIDEYYZ) but at times it can still be lonely. So walks with my dog, and regular errands, like walking into town with my shipping packages can be key when working from home to help stave off the isolation feelings.  

I AM GEARING UP FOR MY WEDDING WHICH IS IN TWO WEEKS

I'm kind of getting sad that it is so soon and engagement life will be no more! It's been so fun! But also I am excited to get back to working full time in the studio (weddings take up a lot of your time!) and I'm excited to start planning our trip to Scotland! We booked our flights so we head out of here in September for our honey moon! Are you taking any special trips this year?
